Ifeora Emeka is the founder and CEO of Onita AI, a platform that helps business owners build and deploy AI agents—AI employees that take on real work instead of just answering questions. His mission is simple and ambitious: give African businesses a workforce that scales with their ambition, not their headcount.

Born on July 29th, 1996 in Lagos, Nigeria, Emeka's fascination with software started early and never let go. He studied Computer Science (BSc) at the National Open University of Nigeria, teaching himself to build long before—and long after—the coursework, driven by a simple obsession: making machines do the repetitive work so people don't have to.

That obsession turned into a craft at Proxify, where he built autonomous agents, complex workflows, and ERP systems for demanding, real-world operations. It was there that the pattern clicked: most businesses aren't short on talent—they're short on systems. The bottleneck was never the people; it was the manual work piled around them. He carried that lesson through his work at Hawksworth and into everything he builds today.

Onita AI is the answer he wished existed: instead of hiring to keep up, business owners describe the work, and Onita helps them stand up AI employees that execute it—end to end, inside the tools they already use. It's the same philosophy that drives iDegin: start with the business, then build the AI around it.

Today, Emeka is helping lead the agentic movement across Africa—betting that the continent's next generation of category-defining companies won't win by hiring the most people, but by deploying the smartest systems. He writes and builds in the open, and is always happy to talk shop with founders and operators figuring out where AI actually fits.
